Default best bang for the buck

i have a 05 rsx-s that is in need of some shocks and struts and im trying to figure out the best bang for my buck-

ive researched and found a full set of koni yellows for like 650 but ive never had a set so i didnt know if they were all that good but my real question is is if a full body coilover is a way better way to go than the yellows-

ive seen a whole coilover setup for sale for like 1000 and that seems to be a better deal to me anyway-

i havent done much modding to my rsx and i would jus like to know the best way to go by some of yall that have already been there

thanks

I have Koni yellows and I highly recommend them. They are adjustable with a good quality ride. If you don't need coilovers don't waste your money. Just get some good shocks and springs.

Suspension is all about a money game and what your goals are.

If you just want a lowered look and don't need it slammed, don't worry about performance, buy EIBACH SPRINGS and some KONI STRUTS and call it a day.

And please use some grammar. Nothing worse than readingallrunonsentencesandthewordlikeasifyouweret alkingforreal lol

koni's will be a great upgrade....to make it even better...clubrsx still has some hotchkis camber plates (they are not making them anymore)that will work with your stock style springs and give you up to about -2.0 degrees camber....some neg camber really wakes up the car.........Your best mod for handling is tires of course....

Unless they changed them, on the Hotchkiss camber plates--you have to drill out a part on your chassis to make them work. No thanks.

To the OP--RSX A-spec kit. $650 shipped to your door on ebay. They are 100x better than any cheap coilover on the market. Don't put cheap suspension on your car.

This is a sweet deal.

Todd - how does the camber work on the aspec kit? is it more neg. or is it somehow the same as the stock setup?

OP - I have a set of RSX Buddy Club N+ Dampers for sale. 750shipped. PM me if interested.

I ran KYB AGX shocks with Tien lowering springs and loved them. THe AGX's are comparable to the yellow koni's, both are adjustable. Absolutely loved the stance and handling. I did have a set of Buddy club Race spec dampeners and those were ridiculously stiff for a DD. You hit the smallest bump on the highway and it sends you out of your set. They are great for autocross but fail for DDing

Just a little fyi....monrow shocks is a american compeny....kyb is monrow's "tuner" devision....you will notice that any place you can get monrow shocks, you can also get kyb's because they have the same sales rep. And saying AGX's are "comparable" to koni's yellow is just plain silly. Look, kyb's are stamped mass produced dampers. Their housings are flat stock that is welded into a tube, koni's are extruded tubing that are almost twice as think as the kyb's. This is important because the housings can flex under load. Koni's are rebiuldable and you can have them custom tuned to your spring rates....AGX's, sorry, there stamped togather, you have to cut them up to take them apart...Back in the 80's and 90's when I was racing, I knew 2 guys that were sponcered by kyb, they raced on painted/ restickered koni's

it depends on what you want. I autocross in G stock so I really didn't want to lower the car. I was looking for adjustability and high quality. I went with the Koni yellows with stock springs and they fit the bill for me.

I wouldn't go cheap with suspensions/tires/brakes but that's just me. Its your build though so if you don't want a full set up look at some good combinations other have used on CRSX...

I bought a set back in early 2005 and they called for slightly enlarging the 3 bolt openings on the chassis. I sent them back.

Perhaps they were redesigned after that. I do recall getting them for a good deal.

Camber is within OEM Specs with the A-spec kit. No rear camber kit needed.

If you want more camber in the front, buy the OEM Honda crash bolts for the car and you can dial in another ~.75-1.0 degree of negative.

I see nothing on KYB's or Monroe's website or any other website suggesting that they are the same company. How are they not comparable to Koni? they are both aftermarket adjustable struts. I have had two AGX setups and had not had any problems with the housing flexing under load. As far as rebuilding them, The AGX's come with lifetime warranty. If sometime goes wrong they aren't going to cut them up, they are going to send you a new one. And if your really beating the **** out of your struts by racing your car you likely have full coil overs anyway. As far as DD is concerned, AGX's are a pretty good band for the buck.

There is a differance between a bamper that is just stamped togather on on that is made to be rebiult. Koni's are only sold in pairs because they know how important it is to have the right and left side shocks have matching damping curves....kyb not so much. May I sugest you read this....
