Icon2 B20b swap

Wuddup Fellas,
So my Z6 motor is gettin' up there in the miles and while I'm not positive on it's current malfunction I'm pretty sure that I've got no compression in one of the cylinders. The tranny has never been replaced and second gear is slowly, but surely giving way. I recently met a guy whose got a nice B20 with a GSR hydro tranny with under 40k just sittin in his garage. Jokingly, I told the guy that I'd gladly take it off of his hands for $300 and to my surprise he said he'd take it. It seems that the guy bought it for a swap in his ek and ended up not being able to afford the rest of the work. What do you guys think would be the best move in this scenario.

I know this is where my own opinion of my car comes into play and to tell you the truth I love my d-series and was hoping to keep it in and stay away from the b-series trend, but times just aren't as easy anymore and money is tight. I feel as if my ride might be a ticking time bomb and you can't even find a good z6 motor/tranny swap for that price.

buy the b20 and sell it to make a profit or trade it for a z6 setup. someone would gladly do that.

if it were me i would just swap to a b series. i wouldnt really call swapping b series a trend anymore. they are more common than d series now. i would say k is more of a trend but even they are super common now. maybe j series is the new trend???

I actually did see a j-series swap in what I think was the new honda tuning.

Definently a good suggestion and I had thought of selling it for myself and makin' a little profit off of it, but I was looking on the web and couldn't even find one nor could I find a Z6 complete combo. My first thought was hmotors, but the only d-series was the 15.
Does anyone know where I can find some good comparisons prices for this motor or even better know somebody who's interested in a buy.

Depending on what year the motor is, is how you know how much its worth. The lower compression (96-98) are worth about $400. The higher compression (99-00) can be around $500-$600.

The motor is definently from a 97 CRV, that much I do know. The motor and tranny were both purchased individually. How much would the GSR tranny go for on the market these days. I would love to sell as one piece, but would ofcourse part out if I had buyers for both.
