Before you jumped the service connector, does the CEL remain on steady when the key is turned to ON(II)? If not, then you have no CEL codes stored in the ECU.
This is code 0, which indicates that the ECU is not getting proper power or ground or is bad.
Clean and tighten the ground on the thermostat housing, check power in and out of the main relay, and check whether the MAP sensor does not receive the proper 5 reference volts.

yeah try a different ecu and see what that does. have you tried reseting the ecu by pulling the 15A fuse under the hood labeled back up for 10-15 sec and then starting the car? if not, try that and see if you get a code.
When I had a CEL that wouldn't go away or give me a code, it was because my ECU was fried. When I spliced a harness into the drivers kick, I didn't notice that the wire for the reverse lights was the same color/stripe combo and gauge as one for the fuel pump. When the ECU got the power for the reverse lights on the fuel pump line something fried. The CEL stayed on, gave me no code, and ran like crap until I replaced the ECU.
