JDM GSR+ jdm harness into eg civic
car: 1995 civic dx 1.5 non vtec
swap: jdm ob2 gsr with obd1 distributor and JDM harness
Using a jdm engine subharness (original off the d series got damaged)to wire up a swap in a non vtec civic dx
took the harness apart and flipped everything over, everything is almost done and ready to go my question is will damage occur from using the original ob2 jdm harness to the obd1 system? already used the old plug of the d series to wire up the alternator as it was different on the new motor
and is the jdm gsr subharness the same as the usdm harness because if so then it seems like almost all the wires have to be ripped out and re wired
any one out there who has used the jdm harness off the gsr motor to make things work? and knowledge or advice appreciated
thx

USDM OBD2 Integra engine harnesses are a direct plug in at the OBD1 civic/Integra shock tower plugs. JDM should theoretically be the same, It would make a whole lot more sense to pick up a used USDM Integra harness though.
Just used your original harness and add the wires for vtec. Also, your install, as well as performance would benefit from a type r style intake manifold, then you don't have to worry about the secondaries.
Why did you order a rhd engine harness??? its useless unless you want to use it as scrap parts. < honda-tech member with over 4000 posts
i just made it work i flipped the harness, extended the wires, back probed the wires and checked to see if i had continuity to the sensors from the ecu
honda tech this can be done and dont let these so called "educated" members tell you otherwise
the jdm harness works great and i learned a lot about the cars systems while doing it so no its not SCRAP if it is then please send them to my home via fedex i will pay for all shipping costs
thank you

^ +1 For most people it's not worth the time to make a RHD harness work, but it will work. If it wouldn't work with modifications, then why would a LHD harness work with a JDM engine in a LHD car? It wouldn't, but it does. It's just that most people who come on here and asks these type of questions don't have the patience or knowledge to make it work, at least not without screwing it up.
