ok so ive been searching all day running back and forth from the house to the garage trying to get my 88 crx si to spark. it has a dohc swap and a diy dizzy harness jumper.
i know i should be using the right dizzy and i am but after that one wouldnt give me a spark i tried all my regular sohc obd0 dizzys and no spark from them.
i switched the icm from a very clean looking d16 dizzy into the 89 integra dizzy.
when i tried turning it over for a few cranks and no spark i went to pull that dizzy out and the icm was very very hot.
ive tried 4 dizzys and all no spark. kinda weird having 4 and not one will give me anything.
i hooked up a volt meter to the coil and found im getting battery voltage with the ignition on. i tested the positive connection on the coil and the part that your cap goes to.
and still nothing im just wondering why the icm got so hot. and why im not getting spark.
ive been all over google and all over here.

 

 

just out of curiousity is your main relay working? this might be a long shot, but check your starter solenoid fuse under the dash...

 

man im just trying to get through this horrible winter. my lexus aint going anywhere.
rwd and bald tires + snow dont mix too well.
and with this foot of snow and blizzard conditions i cant even move it. or else i would just sell the crx and let some one else mess with it.

 

yeah my main relay is good.and im getting fuel.and the car turns over fine.
you can hear my pump kick in. and can see that the ecu is working because im throwing a code 9 which is cps.
from the dohc zc exhaust cam gear not being there yet.
but that wont cause no spark.

 

i had the fat white wire and white wires mixed up. got spark but not running.
it will attempt to run if the dizzy timing is all the way retarded.
i also am getting a code 8 and code 9

 

wait you dont have the exhaust cam in yet?? and your turning it over?

 

sorry about that let me say that a little better i dont have my cps sensor in the exhaust cam. and i am throwng codes 8,9 which is the sensor that i am wation on today. and code 14 because the iacv is not plugged in i have to extend them wires.

 

it starts but wont idle and is very rough. i have to pump the gas pedal to keep it running.

 

It's got to be throwing a check engine light.
You need to clear all those - not worth the time troubleshooting when you have sensors screaming problems at you.
