Default Buying a 2003 civic si

hi guys, i am new to the site and hondas. Im buying a used 03 civic si(ep3 as i guess they are called) and any information and tips you have will be greatly appreciated. I have a few questions

1) The 2 buttons on each side of the shifter i know the red is the hazards and ive been told the grey one is nothing but can be used for something. what can it be used for?

2) is there a cigarette lighter, i havent seemed to see one.

3) it already has a magnaflow exhaust, what will be an easy/cheapishh mod to give it a little more power?

Thanks in Advance!

Welcome to the site and the wonderful world of Hondas!

1) You're right - this is just a plug. It can be used for a cigarette lighter (comes this way in Japan but not the US). Other people have installed an Engine Start button there, like on S2000's.

2) See #1

3) A short ram intake is always a nice relatively cheap mod. Injen is the best brand in terms of horsepower gains.

I'd recommend checking out ephatch.com, the website is freakishly dedicated to EP3s. They have a classified section where you can pick up a nice used intake for cheap.

Good luck

I can see that you really dont know anything about the ep3. Thats fine, we all start from somewhere..... First go test drive an ep3 before buying. Then see if you LOVE the car, or HATE the car. There is NO IN BETWEEN. I guarantee you if you say "yeh i kinda like it" then guess what? Once you get it, you're gonna HATE IT.

As for mods, DONT mod anything. SRI/intake or any of those junk isn't gonna do you any good.... Just heat soak and killing the mpg. DOnt bother with junk2 crap either like thier suspension parts. Please DO NOT ruin an ep3. (But its your car just a suggestion) I've seen so many rice boys slamming their eps with junk2 sleeves/spring and it handles and drives like shiit. Even if you love your car, you WILL HATE IT AFTER.
