They wont pay you for a JDM front, as it's not even legal to swap over because it doesn't have an impact beam.

actually, SOME insurance companies WILL insure aftermarket parts on cars (for extra charges, of course).. A friend of mine had his front end, rims, lights, and exhaust ALL covered by insurance... if he hit a bump and dented the exhaust, they cover it in full.. although, he also paid 600 per month for insurance.. lol

It's more of a bracket then an actual bumper rebar. It wont do anything if you rear end someone, I know, I've had an EF8 front end. In BC it isn't legal to remove your bumpers for anything that isn't OEM. I'm sure if you did get in an accident though an adjuster would have a hard time distinguishing what is and isn't OEM, as some CRX HF's came with about the same sized rebar as the JDM front.

geico will cover aftermarket accessories. its like a hot rod insurance. it costs a little more, but i wouldn't think its that much more.

$600 a month for insurance? i call not saying your lying or anything, but thats more like the insurance you pay on a brand new porsche or something, not an ef. i'd say your buddy is full of ****. lol

i have everything covered on my insurance. my GReddy, Clutch, flywheel, motor transmission, motor mounts, short shifter, intake, interrior, front end and paint job covered. i have my full coverage + 2500 in parts and only pay 250 a month for the crx and for my EJ8 coupe with full coverage + 1500 in parts on that one.

man, you guys pay alot in insurance. i have a 94 accord ex, and a 99 grand am gt coupe, and i only pay $451 every six months. lol. the grand am has the maximum of everything, and its considered a high performance sports car. i'm also 27 and married so, maybe that has something to do with it too.

I wonder if you purchase jdm hood from a crx but have it on your hatch and something happen. You show them your recipe but it says for a crx but, the car that is insured is a hatch will they still cover your hood? Since it did not specified that it is for your vehicle model. Just a thought.

Most of you guys that have never had to go through insurance have no idea what lengths insurance companies will go through to pay you as little money as possible.

Ditto.

I've been screwed over by insurance companies before.

Ditto chorizo, I've been paid so many times. Drive correctly and there's no reason for more.

hey, when my crx was stolen a few months back my insurance company worked with me on everything. the adjuster was nice and said everything was covered i just had to show that it was permanently on my car or was needed to drive the car. she said i would have been looking at high 4000 if it wasnt found.

You must be really lucky then or she was full of it. When my mint EF hatch got hit the adjuster came out and said it was about $1600 worth of damage and should hear something from them soon. Next thing I know they offer me a check for $1200 and say they won't pay anymore on a car that old or they will just total it.
