Default How much should I buy this engine for?

I got a friend of mine who is selling his USDM b16a3 with no tranny, he is a member on here, his name is "xxstuntin4life" you probably know him. I am not really sure how much to offer him for it, he said to make an offer, but I can't really find prices online. So what is a good offer?

$800-$1000 considering he's your friend, considering its good

You can get the older model b16A for $900-1200 all day for just the longblock

Thats not a little bit high? I got my b16a2 long block with a full oem rebuild on the gsr head and a gsr trans for $1100 from my room mates boss at work. I dont know why he put a gsr head on the a2 tho. Maybe toasted the other? But I drove it before he pulled it and it felt really really good with no smoke at all.

i sold a good condition b16a2 short block no trans for $150 before :x hahahah i just wanted that **** out of the garage.. but yea id say around $800 depending on condition, check for leaks around the cam seal, valve cover gasket, and oil pan gasket - did you ever see it running? any smoke when idling or while in Vtec or trouble starting in colder weather?

i would tell him 900 and then find a tranny for 600 and you have a legit swap for less then 3k.

It all depends on how he ran the engine, Daily or Squirting NOS and popping vtect to every stop light, you can never tell.
