HELP! motor will idle low and cut offf

Default HELP! motor will idle low and cut offf

to make a long story short,we took the motor out and put it back in today,once i start it, the idle will drop and the car will just cut off on me, only way to keep it on is to start it and rev the motor..... anyone help wit this?

did u take the motor apart, if not try checking your vacuum lines

I just changed my timing belt on my ek and it started to do the same thing. have you figured out what was wrong with your car?

jondamien by what you just said you need to go back and check your timing def sounds like timing to me.

Eg me why did you pull the motor then put it back in? can you give us a little more specific scenarios?

Thanks johnzy00, I took the my car apart again and when in check everything cam shaft is centered with the UP portion up and the crank shaft is pointed right at the mark. I'm lost there is a light ticking coming from the valves I wonder if the tensioner has anything to do with since I did not change it.

I have had the same problem, it could also very well be the IAC valve, other than of course adjusting your timing from the distributer or throttle linkage if applicable, I have the same problem and the only thing I haven't checked is the vacuum lines that's what I'm doing tomorrow, hope it works will let you know, I have never heard of it involving the timing though
