Default Wrong radiator? Or something I need to do.

2000 base manual model.

I had to replace my radiator today. I pulled the old one out and by the time the place closed, I noticed it was different. There are two threaded slots on the bottom and it came with brass nozzles that screw in that a hose connects to. Mine does not have those two threaded male ends. Also I don't see a spot for the drain screw.

Am I missing something or did I get an incorrect one? Everything else lines up perfectly.

Here is the link to the type I got. It was from a different shop but looks exactly the same.

Thats universal, fits auto and manual. The 2 lines are for the cooler for the automatic transmission. You're fine.

Do I get a hose and tie those together? Also there is no drain plug. How do I drain the radiator in the future?

Yeah, just cap them so junk doesn't get in there, but I think oil flows through there, not coolant flowing out. So..yeah.

About the drain, I don't know.

If your car is manual you dont need to do anything to those to lines. That is where autotranny fluid would flow to get cooled off. other wise nothing will go in or out of there. If you have no drain plug then send it back or simply remove the bottom rad hose to drain in the future.

Thanks. I got it replaced and figured if I need to drain it, I'll pull one of the big hoses haha.

The trans cooler lines you do not need to worry about. However, they are notorious for leaking, so eventually you'll want to get something to stopper them up. Get a cap for em, either threaded metal or a rubber vaccuum hose cap will prolly due, just to keep dirt out of it. Not really necessary, but whatever.

As for draining, don't worry about a petcock. Just pull the lower radiator hose. I never use the drain's on em, pulling the lower hose is a helluva lot faster.
