Default won't rev past 3k and no CEL

Running b7 w/z6 head. had a few probs in the beginning but all figured out now. Now the issue is now is that my p28 acts like it is in limp mode, wont rev past 3k. i plugged in my p06 and it ran normally. so i know all plugs and grounds are good. i plugged the p28 into a friends car and it didnt do that. plugged it back into mine and again, wont rev past 3k. could it be that i didnt jump d6 with a4 since its a dx?

nope. it worked with a friends z6. will a bad o2 sensor make it not rev past 3k?

You say a long flash then 5 seconds, that would be Code 10. Code 10 is the IAT sensor. Try swapping with a known good one?

no, an O2 sensor will not keep you from revving past 3k.
Are there any wires utilized with your p06 that you don't use with your p28?
Or vice versa?

so the problem with the idle is b/c of the ECU right?...

so 1 long flash then 5 seconds and then a long flash and 5 more seconds over and over is 10(IAT)? cool. but would this cause it to not rev past a certain point?

ok..once i unplug the IAT and jump the SC, the flashes are the same. so its certain that the IAT is the culprit. so could it be a wire loose somewhere? does the p28 look for that? cause in my z6 manifold, there wasnt a IAT

ok the ecu is chipped with a sst chip so im at the final guess of it being the launch control. i havent tried actually driving it, but i have put it in all gears and it does the same thing. if its launch control, how do i remove it?

if it's the car in your avatar, that's the problem.

registering low oil so rev-limiter kicks in to restrict rpm from damaging motor?
