i was told that it would be better for me to put a procharger kit on my 96 accord...would it really be better than a turbo kit?
They don't exist. Which is why I asked.
No commercially available supercharger exists for the F22. Which is why you don't ever see them and why people go with a turbo for forced induction.
And before anyone tries to correct me yes I know of the guy trying to retrofit an Eaton supercharger to his F but I have not seen an update in like 2-3 years.

Even if there was one available, I'd say turbo all day. You could get a smaller turbo that will spool up very quickly and will match/beat a supercharger's power gains. And you would always have the option of upgrading to a bigger turbo for more power down the line for much less than swapping blowers.

The closest you will come is the H22, however because of how the bay is designed the motor sits further back and tilted back than it does in the Prelude. As a result the supercharger for it comes in contact with the firewall and the strut tower.
If you get the supercharger that mounts in front (forgot the technical term
) of the engine I've seen it done in a CB Accord with an H22 but believe they had to hack up the front support as well as a few others.
You are better off with the turbo if you want FI.

k...cause they told me that a procharger will give me more of a power gain than a turbo...so if i keep the f22 then ill have to get a turbo
Turbo's will always give u better power options than superchagers.
To add power on turbo cars u have many options like turning up the boost going with a bigger turbo.
On the other hand u have a massive supercharger that has very few power ranges because you can only switch the pulley on the system for more or less power. then once u find u want more power than that charger can offer u would need an entire new kit which is not only expensive, but doesn't even exist for us honda guys.
go turbo, cheaper, more power, more options.
Turbo FTW!!

Ask him if Diesel trucks use superchargers or turbos and why...see what he comes up with...should be a whopper of a BS story. If he gives you some weak *** line about Top Fuel its in the rules that they use a crappy roots blower and a V8...not because either is the best.
Turbo...properly sized...almost impossible to beat by any other means (by another FI system)

gotcha...yea lol he has a cobra good guess...but thanks and i have another question...is it worth taking the cat off and putting a straight pipe in
yes it frees up power BUT your car will stink and so will you when you smell the fumes of unburned gas inside the cockpit
Is it worth it? Your call
Ive done it on my track cars..open header...or straight pipe header back exhaust...but I also had no A/C and no PS in the car...being young and not caring is different from being older, having kids and being married lol
