the car: 95 civic ex w/ 4 wheel discs and abs. the problem: brakes sound like they are grinding but ALL pads and rotors are good? and the splash shields arent hitting the rotors. it only sounds like its grinding only when i hit the brakes.. im at a loss. any help?

 

maybe you have small rocks stuck somewhere?.. sounds like your rotors.. double chk everything again to be safe

 

Did you grease the rails before installing the pads? You may need to get a brake hardware set and replace the rails. Does it only happen while the brake is being depressed and not when the pedal is held down and not moving?

 

sounds like they need to be taken aparts and "de-squeaked". you should use to pad silencer and make sure you lube the rails where the pads sit in the caliper. brake dust build up can also cause sounds while braking. what they new pads and rotors or what?

 

the pads are about 2 months old, and the rotors were turned when i put the pads on.. i will try to take it apart and grease the guides and see if it helps..

 

nice!! it worked, greased the guides and no noise now.. didnt think that would've made it sound like the brakes were grinding?!? thanks guys
