Question about nitrous
I came across a good deal for a NX kit from a friend. Im gonna have to buy a nozzle and jets to use it on my car, so im curious what a safe size would be to use on my car. Im thinking 75 shot. Now I bought the car from a family friend who claims to have tons of work done to the car, but, Im not wanting to pull it apart to check, he claims it to have scat rods, and forged pistons, bored .20 over, bc cams, shaved head, spoon head gkaset with arp studs, act clutch n flywheel, titanium retainers, valve springs, keepers, ect ect. Im going to yank the valve cover to check whats in the head, and I know its got an apexi ws2 exhaust and a header, with an aem v2 intake. I beleive that ecu has been tapped because its got two step on it, and the ecu has all kinds of harnesses and whatnot on it, but it doesnt have any numbers on it. Any recomendations would be appriciated in this matter, please dont flame me too bad, just looking for knowledgable help here.
If set up or used improperly, Nitrous will cost you more than you are willing to pay. I would get this "quote" parts list for this car because that is a fairly high priced list and personally I don't trust anyone when buying a car. Personally, if I had all that stuff done and in my engine, I wouldn't do something like nitrous. Having said that nitrous can be fun and takes less time to install than forced induction so there are a few plus areas.
Not exactly sure what scat rods are and at work I am not going to search it ha ha.
If I were in your shoes, I would save my money, demand a parts list for this car, and piece together the engine of your dreams, that way you know exactly where everything goes and who did the work.
