Popping coolant hoses
Had a hose pop the other day while driving city, pulled replaced and got it running again no problems. Drove it around all day the next day, including back and forth to a meet (including the bit of spirited driving involved
) and was fine, then when i was almost home i popped a pinhole leak in the heater hose
Tired of replacing these things- what could be causing them to keep going?
Specs:
B16a2 turbod and with goodies
aluminum race radiator (no name ebay)
Running 50/50 premix

usually once one goes the others aren't too far behind. replace the remaining hoses and try to get factory spring clamps if you have any screw type (spring clamps maintain tension on the hose as it softens and deforms over time, screw type will not)
hoses seem to fail from the inside out. so even though they look fine, the insides could be ready to fail. replacing the one that popped first put the pressure on the other old hoses causing the next weakest to fail.
