Icon2 Lx sedan, manual conversion, d16 head?

Hey all, ive been wondering whether or not i should take the time and money to work on my ef since its such an awesome car and wanted to know what you guys would think of my plan.

Its an untouched d15b2 with auto tranny. Im thinking of swapping in a crx si tranny and using a d16y8 head. However i wanted to know if there are any cheaper or just smarter alternatives?

I love my ef to death i just dont know if its worth the money to improve it or just get another one thats already manual.

Definitely doing mpfi, but should it be done with the y8 head or just do the mpfi for my stock engine now?

you can do it for now on your stock engine which gives you more time to find a cheaper price on a d16z6 or d16y8 head...i think your real problem though to maximize the real benefits is to convert to five speed but im pretty sure you can find a stock mpfi ecu from a 90-91 civic ex by searching through craigslist...!!!

Thanks man. I assume the tranny swap is going to be the most difficult and costly since i would need to pull the engine but im so tired of an auto.

you dont have to pull the engine...just find yourself a dx or si cable tranny, manual flywheel, clutch kit, clutch cable,pm6 ecu, manual pedal assembly ect and get to work...!!!

dx and si use the same axles...hf and std use different axles and the zc tranny uses 90-93 integra axles with a zc intermediate shaft...!!!
