GSR and Civic EX front brakes same size?
I have a 97 Civic EX and a GSR front and rear brake swap lying around. I was wondering for the front, are the discs the same size between the GSR and EX? I know the calipers are different so wondering if all I need to do is swap calipers in the front or hubs as well. Thanks.
The front gsr (rs,gs,ls for that matter theyre all the same) calipers are bigger than the ex calipers.
So its same rotor size, but bigger caliper on teggys.
As for swapping knuckles... No you have to keep EX. Just swap calipers with mounting bracket.
Lemme know if you wanna get rid of your ex calipers

Just a heads up op, if your looking to upgrade to both the gsr front calipers and rear discs. I'd def. upgrade to a Si/GSR brake booster and brake master cylinder. I have a 99 Civic ex with GSR rear discs and had gsr front calipers on. Braking felt unsafe and you would have to press the pedal pretty damn far for the car to brake. If you dont plan to upgrade your brake booster and master cylinder, i would not, i repeat i would not upgrade to the gsr front calipers. Having the GSR rear discs wont be a problem but using the front GSR calipers will drop your brake pressure. The GSR front calipers are slightly bigger than Si/Ex so it requires a stronger mc/bb. Your already losing a bit of pressure from the rear disc setup, keep that in mind. If you have any other questions PM me bro...GL
im having that problem right now i have gsr front and back brake ... and i thought my master cylinder was out and i replace it and the pedal is dropping real low i have to pump it sum times to build pressure so ur saying i just need to replace the master and the brake booster from a teg i got a eg

not trying to thread jack, but i got a 95 civic ex with rear discs and abs. are the rear brakes the same size as integras also?
Yup, they all use the same rotor in the rear, just different pads and calipers if it's a DA or any other civic/integra (except maybe the type r, not sure). Obviously the type r uses a different rotor...
You dont need an si brake booster nothing. Brake boosters are all the same from 1996-2000 cx,dx,lx,ex, AND si. The gsr bb is what you want. And while you're at it get the 1" mc from the gsr.
As for the teg and ex caliper being the same. Its true they are the sam exact size... EXCEPT tegs have a bigger piston and bigger pad. But the caliper body is the same.

^^^ he has an ex already so... I wouldnt recommend to have to swap out the whole knuckle.
Hey can you confirm sometying for me? You cant use teg front lca's on a civic right?

Sounds easy enough. I had planned on replacing the booster and MC with GSR parts as well.
This won't happen for quite some time, about February maybe. But I'll be more than happy to sell the EX calipers if you still want them around then.
