Have a loud whistling noise when engine is cold,goes away after warm up,searched forum,no luck,any help appreciated.P.S its not the belts even though I do need to tighten them.

Yes its stock sounds like a valve guide gone except it comes and goes

Is this high pitched noise almost sound like a belt squeeling and is terribly loud or is it a whistling that you have to listen for. if its the first of the two then your intake mani gaske likely has a hairline break in the seal. Happened to me and took me a day to figure it out.

if its a valve guide then save up and buy the valve seals and replace the whole smack while u got the head off. get it milled too.
