Default 2001 civic AT problem/question... please help!!!

Ok this is my girlfriends car and it is a 2001 civic ex auto trans and lately it has been acting crazy. When i put it in drive it wouldnt go just rev and I put it in reverse it went for a second then did the same and it also did it the same for the lower gears. Checked the trans fluid and it seems just fine. Anyone know might be going on? Thanks so much.

If the transmission fluid is up to spec, and there is nothing wrong with the shift cable, you likely have an internal issue.

It could be just one, or a combination of things in the transmission which are failing.

How many miles are on the car? These automatic transmissions are lucky to see 100k.

Its in the mid to high 80's I think and ya I found a website where people basically said that this year of civic has horrible transmissions and they tell their story of what happened and all of theirs are around 75 to 110. Their descriptions sound like the same as her car So ya its at a shop now and we are pretty much thinking the worst but who knows. Thanks again
