Default PLX Wideband: Need wiring advice.

I have purchased a plx dm-5 combo kit. The wideband sensor is mounted, Power cable is attached to a switched 12v source, ground is installed to a good/clean chassis ground.

My question is in regard to the Analog connector. Do I need to wire any of this if I do not plan to datalog? I want to use this as a stand alone gauge just to monitor the AF ratio during my drives. See attached photo.

This is not my kit, just a photo i found for reference.

Hondata and PLX states to wire the analog to the following.
1) 3.3v source
2) ground
3) D14 "narrowband 02, Stock"
4) D10 "ELD"

But I would imagine this is only for datalogging and eliminating the stock narrow band? Anyone know? I sent an e-mail to PLX tech support as well.

Any help appreciated.

if your not using it for logging you dont need to hook it to anything. if your ecu is still looking for o2 input and thats the only o2 you have then you need to feed the narrowband output to the ecu o2 input.

In regard to this thread, if you are using it to datalog how would you hook it up?

heres the link to the instructions ... Pg 4 at the top http://www.plxdevices.com/Installati...UsersGuide.pdf

So diagram goes:
#1 3.3v
#2 Grnd
#3 Narrowband
#4 Wideband

would i just wire the narrowband signal directly to D14? whats 3.3v for and Grnd?

Thanks

You would wire the wideband output into either D14 (02 input, up to 3.8v) or D10 (ELD, 0-5v), either will work. I don't know what they mean by 3.3v, im assuming that is the 12v power source, and ground would be the ground for powering the wideband controller.

Doesnt D10 have to be modded to be used? Right now im using D14 but would love for ectune to be able to read the full 0-5volts.

That is not an eCtune limitation. D14 is limited to 3.8v. You must modify the board for it to read 5.0v.

D10 does not need to be modified to be used, but you'll likely need to use an offset to get correct readings. If you remove the resistors mentioned for that modification it does make it way more accurate.

On eCtune is states to remove the resistors. But it also states that it would be better to replace the existing resistors with 100K-1M Ω resistors. So would it be better to replace them with the 100K or 1M Ω resistor?

I gave up waiting for a reply and went out and bought a bunch of the 1MΩ resistors and it works great.
