Electrical Issues, Help me!! 91 crx si
So, I have a 91 crx si with a obd0 b16 swap. I am having some wierd issues with the car. I have a brand new alternator so I dont think that is a problem...
1) I have a drain on the battery and the battery is constantly getting drained
2) When I am at a red light and put on the blinker, my RPM tach bounces from 0 to 1.5....but as soon as I put my blinker off the tach goes back to idle
3) When I break all my lights dim, interior and exterior
Thanks for looking, hopefully I can get some helpful suggestions to fix these problems

yeah... well, it shouldnt make your tach jump, which tells me that your wiring is crossing somewhere...
now, the million dollar question.. who wired your car for vtec and the b16? if any wires were cut/spliced, then i suggest you look there first..
WHEN did it start doing this? just recently? or has it always been like this since the swap?

take a volt meter, put it on the battery, and go through EVERY fuse in the car (cabin AND under the hood), and as you pull them out, look for that load on the battery to go away.. once it does, whatever that fuse controlled is what is draining the battery
Do you have an aftermarket stereo in it? My cavi, when I wired my stereo in, used to make my speedo bouncing with the music when the stereo was on... so if ANY wiring was messed with, start there
WTF do you mean a bad ground won't cause the tachometer to jump around? When the turn signals are going it is fluctuating current. The draw is both +12v and -12v since it is not a natural/common ground setup. This could very well in fact make the tachometer fluctuate as well as the temperature and fuel gauges rise because of increased resistance.
Also, what does applying the brakes and the lights dimming have to do with the B16 wiring? Look at the whole picture.

I was suggesting stuff.. sorry if you didnt like what you heard.. haha.. i am looking at the big picture..
Now, have you even looked at it with volt meters and try to troubleshoot it yourself? or did you want us to do the work for you? :p
I mean, you asked, we give answers...
i dont know.. what do your blinkers have to do with your tach? who the **** knows, but i was just trying to give some tips.. why dont you try some of the stuff i said, and see if you can find something in there? hahahaha

Alright, I am going to check these things this weekend...thanks for the help!
I have a cheap-o walmart battery as well as an odyssey battery, the walmart battery will not hold a charge, but the odyssey will. I am afraid to keep the odyssey battery in there for too long, cause it was expensive and dont want it to get drained and not hold a charge either..
