Default Need tranny help from the H.T. Gods...lol

First off i've searched and searched for days and still need help on this.
Ive got a 91 crx dx with a DOHC ZC swap with a L3 tranny.
Ive got this noise that has me stumped boys. I thought it was the inner cv joint so i replaced them both since one had a click anyway. Still get the noise , sounds kinda like when you put a playing card on your bicycle when you were a kid....
It only does it when the car is in gear and moving. I can hear it in 1st and 2nd going slow but any faster or higher gear the exhaust drowns it out im sure.
I noticed the front mount was broke so i replaced it and still no luck with this sound.
I thought input shaft bearing but not sure if it would make this noise.
Ive got a d16z6 with a y8 tranny sitting in my shop waiting on crank bearings and wondered how much of a P.I.T.A. and how much $ it would take to put that in as im not 100% sure if it will even work with the dohc zc ?
Thanks for the help guys !!!

Just to clarify, you want to remove the ZC/L3 and install the Z6/y8?

No i'd like to mate the ZC to the Y8... If this is even possible.
I'd love to just keep the L3 tranny in there but i need this to be a d.d. and this sound makes me not want to trust her...lol

Is it a d16zc or just ZC stamped on the block? if its d16zc than it should bolt up fine, get the d16zc clutch. Thing is, im not sure if the zc blocks are the same as the d16zc, either way they should bolt up. someone else chime in on this

lol my 1000th post

sounds like what my tranny was making before it tore it apart. from what i was told it's the input shaft bearing, although i have not finished tearing mine apart to verify it. as far as bolting the zc to a y8 tranny, yes you can do it, however you will need to purchase a cable to hydro clutch conversion kit
