Hi all, I am new to the forum even though I have been reading allot in the past... You guys have amazing cars!!

I love EF's and right now I have a 1991 Civic DX.

Ok here is my story and please let me know what you would do!!


I had a nice Y49 CRX si back home in Puerto Rico but I had to sell it because I was moving to US due to an engineering JOB. I though that with the money that I got for the CRX ($3K) I could buy a better one here. I owned that car for like 3-4 years and now I regret selling. I had some really good times with it and It took me everywhere I drove it!!! Also it looks more sporty than my current civic. Whenever I drove it to a street racing scene, everybody just kept looking at it.

I though that when I bought the civic it would give me the same feeling but seriously it doesnt, dont know why. Maybe CRX's are more rare? If I could choose the CRX over the civic I would. Its not that I dont like the way civics EF9's do because they look hot specially with a JDM front, but an EF8 like the Chasebays or Ryans (Rywire) crx looks better than any other Civic I have ever seen.

I bought this baby in a Junk Yard in FL for $800. It was never crashed, and it didnt had any rust!!

Now I wasnt happy with the motor so I did an obd0 b16 swap. Also I painted it Championship White, rear disk conversion, wire tuck, long story short, allot of work but I did enjoyed!!!



OK so I am not sure if I should keep spending money in my civic. I can get a VIS carbon fiber hood (EF9) an EF9 front end and a J racing spoiler because I am not happy with it how it looks now.

Or should I sell my civic and get a CRX because maybe I will end up doing that sooner or later?

My dream CRX would be a daily driver CRX HF with original motor (55mpg FTW) or maybe K20 :smash: paint it Y49, EF8 front / EF8 spoiler, some nice wheels, Tein coilovers, Make it real clean...

So I dont know, I have this feeling like I would choose a nice CRX over a new car, my wife just keeps laughing at me when I say that!!

 

I would keep that white hatch, look good except the catback, looks ebay to me. Any plans in the future if you keep either one?

Get rid of the Civic and get the CRX, it is obvious your heart is set on the CRX and you will not be happy until you get it.

although, what was it that specifically made the crx that much better to you? the attention? how it handled? how fast it was? all these things can be had if you put the time into it.

 

I agree you should get a crx bcuz you love them as much as you have said. Even though im a ef hatch guy at heart, I know exactly how you feel. I was in the same position with my DD, only with an integra. wasnt happy with any other car until I got a Integra again. and now Im as satisfied as can be.

do what you feel is right cuz you will get hatch guys and crx guys telling you one or the other all day. where your heart is set FTW.

 

You should get another crx. save the hatch until you get it though, and swap your parts over to it.

I would have said keep the civic but you painted over the factory teal which is my personal favorite color on hatches (and eg's, and the slightly darker teal on integras). So i say sell it.

There is a 89-90 Honda CRX HF up here in Augusta. The guy wanted $400 for it...the motor looked spotless, I swear you could eat off it. Said it needed a tranny. Was missing driver side window, Driverside fender needs replacing, reader passenger fender needs repairing...and interior (from missing window) other than that, I didn't see anything else wrong. I think I still have the kids number around here somewhere.
