what else do i need to get to run cheap ebay coilovers ?
I wanna buy some of the really cheap ebay coilovers for my 93 accord... do i need to buy some kind of lowered shocks? or can i run the stock shocks with that setup ?
dude sideways i got my car for free im not gonna go out and spend $3000 on a full coilover setup to just drive back and forth to work ... im almost tempted to just cut the springs thats how much i dont care about the ride on this car .. if i want a comfortable ride i'll hop in my minitruck with air suspension... and thanks Chorizo
OP, if anything at least buy some Megan racing slip over coilovers. They are probably the best bang for the buck setup while still maintaining quality. As for shocks, the best to buy are Koni yellow's, illumina's, or kyb agx's. You could consider skunk2 shocks as well. Keep in mind that doing it right the first time saves alot more money and time. Trust me! GL bro

ok well still to spend $1000 on suspension for a car 93' that wont be show.. and just a work vehicle seems pertty steep .. i mean dont get me wrong ive dumped thousands of dollars into show vehicles but with this one im looking to go as cheap as possible
skunk2 shocks aren't that bad..my nephew has them and skunk2 slip coilovers and I actually like them. Like stated above just get some Megan or Skunk2 slip ons and at least get some decent shocks. Look through the sponsor section, you can find some great deals. Just don't use your stock shocks
Leave the commuter STOCK unless...
1. You want to buy new shocks to replace the blown ones in a few months.
2. You love a bouncy ride that more than likely isn't too safe.
3. You want to buy new tires from the toe wear if you fail to get the car aligned.
it's up to you.

Cut springs with a fresh set of shocks would be good as long as you cut them right. I been riding on cut springs for 3 years just replaced the shocks a year ago still looking good. Just make sure you coat them with some fresh paint or something so they don't rust on the bare metal parts.

do what you want to do, but if you want to go cheap and ghetto, why justify it by spending any more money on crappy shocks like chorizo.
throw the coilovers on whatever shocks you have and enjoy your ride to work then.
just make sure you get an alignment once youve set your ride height to save your tires.

Hey I've driven cars with full coil overs, sleeves, springs, you name it I've driven it. As far as daily driven around town and back country road fun time I really enjoy the comfort of some cut springs. I don't understand what people do when they chop em that makes them ride like ****. People get in my car all the time and think I got some crazy set up that I can adjust cause of how much like factory it rides. So in my opinion you can safely and reliably chop your springs and be fine. I'm not saying it'll last for ever cause I have had to replace rusted out springs on a friends car but it is a lot cheaper to cut some more OEM springs from the scrap yard then buy a 100+ dollar sleeve/spring set up. Again this is just one guys opinion and experience.
Also replacing shocks is a form of general maintanence(bad speller) so yes even when chopping, sleeving, or good old lower springs you should alway switch out with some new shocks. Most people just forget this because you really don't have to do it to often cause of how long they can last in stick form.

i dont understand why you guys hate on ebay coil sleeves, do some of you have even have experiance with them? had them on my car for almost a year, on stock struts they ride fine. worth the money imo.
I've put 4 sets of ebay colovers on Civics for a friend that was always to dam cheap to buy something decent. EVERY TIME they bounce like crazy maybe I'm not doing it right but thats why I dont like em. Hit a pebble bounce for a mile. Just my experience once again.
