whats up honda-tech. heres the story of my most recent 91 crx purchase. about 2 years ago while driving my mint white 91 si. i see a kid with a red one. i race to catch up with him and notice a 4sale sign. i ask the kid how much and he yells $800. i say follow me to my house. i negotiate down to 600 and thats where it all begins. the car appears straight, meaning no accidents. the headlights, bumper and hood look perfect so does the doors and rear bumper fitment theres rust on the quarters. but its supposed to have that. anyway the rust repair and body work was a long drawn out project that i did in my own garage whenever i got a chance. well 2 years later i said this thing has to get done so i can get to other projects. in september i really got cracking and got her painted. i used Rustoleum from home depot. and sprayed it using my home depot hvlp gun. the paint looks awesome. then i tackled the suspension. installed the energy suspension master bushing kit. along with oem honda rear trailing arm bushings. i have tokico hp's wrapped in skunk2 coils that will be installed. ive put new SS brake lines from goodridge, along with new rotors and pads. front end fully rebuilt with new tie rod ends, ball joints, and Boots for the CV joints. yesterday i got the motor and transmission installed in the bay. im running a d16z6 that i picked up for 200. i had the head cleaned checked and shaved. after 1 new exhaust valve the head is perfect. new full gasket kit, with tbelt water pump and tensioner. the motor is in and today ill be adding and changing wires to make it competely obd1 as i have a p28 with an ecu jumper. my plan is to have a oem mint looking crx. just like my white one only this one i can modify. i have a wet Nitrous setup that i might install on the z6. but ill definetly be building the A6 block that came out for forced induction. maybe turbo in the future. so far ive spent about 1 thou total. and this car will be new looking and fun as hell. oh 205k miles on car. let me know what you guys think. heres some pics of the body work progress.
