P06-A02 ECU D16Z6

i have a p06 a02 ecu and i just got a d16z6
a friend of mine told me just to buy a subharness and wire vtec with the pin A6 & D4 on my stock ecu
will this work or is it better just to get a P28 ECU?

The P06 is a non-vtec ecu unless it is chipped and converted, if it isn't u can send it out to have it done for cheaper than buying an actual P28.
