Default Mugen Cat-back for Si Coupe

http://www.kingmotorsports.com/categ...4#Product_1335

Well I always assumed the Mugen parts would be for the 4 doors, but there's an exhaust for coupes now. Seems pricey though..$1500

Any thoughts?

lol i didn't even watch that video til now..but I like to check that site every now and again cuz King Motorsports isn't that far from my house..like 30 min drive tops. And they have an awesome reputation. But yes it's extremely overpriced, so I'm gonna say no..

the outside clip sounded like my stock exhaust with a race header behind it once he hit around 4k. it had that sort of hollow/raspy tone to it.

can that sound any less interesting? 1500 dollars for something that sounds like a vibrant setup only raspier with smaller piping? great idea dudes.

Ever driven an Insight? They are actually a lot of fun compared with other hybrids. I think it's a bit slower than the Prius even, but much more involving and exciting.

^^yup tossed the mugen exhaust aside and slapped on a skunk2 70mm.

you won't be happy with the loudness of the exhaust. sounds good but even with my skunk2 header sounded like a stock si.

if your going for power get a 70mm!!!

also, power gains are minimal. but if your going for the best quality, quite sound and looks go get it.

With Mugen your just paying for the name and not necessarily good HP gains!

Any thoughts on leaving the Mugen muffler, getting rid of the cat and the Mugen resonator, and just putting some 70mm piping in?

that's a really really really really bad idea.

your ruining your mugen exhaust and it'll suck nuts.. lol

just keep your mugen exhaust and buy a nice 70mm

If you have the cash, I don't see why not.

edit: I was really damn tired when I posted that. Wow. Here's what the post should have looked like:

I'm grabbing a header, and it's coming with a catless down pipe, with an 02 Sensor delete. What's the opinion on running a 3" pipe from the down pipe back to the Mugen muffler, removing the Mugen resonator?

you don't want to do that.

im not sure what the size is of the header, but mine is a 70mm.

that means you go from 70mm(2.75") to 76mm(3") and then back to a 60mm(2.5")

thats bad....=[ you're piping should be all the same diameter all the way back.
find out your header's diameter and get a catback with the same diameter.

jumping from differnt piping diameter in your exhaust will cause turbulence and bad flow.

I've had some pretty good success with my Mugen catback. But as the car progresses, I see myself jumping up in diameter.

1500 for this is way overpriced.
Sorta like the Grupp M intake.
