$5 Homeade Hatch Prop ( Easy to make)
My hatch struts went out a while back and I do not want to by new ones right now. One day, I got sick of holding my hatch with one arm and trying to put stuff in the trunk.
So I made this bad boy out of material that can be found at any hardware store for under $10:
I always wondered what these rubber things were made for:

Then I said what ev and put together something those can put that rubber thing to use!

The prop is put together with rubber cement and PVC pipes:

I made a part that sits in the trunk flat with a rubber bottom so it can stay put:

This is how things look when it's put to use. It can also be disassembled into pieces so it can fit in my trunk:

Yeah I am a cheap as$ for not buying new hatch struts but this works way better than a broom stick.
I'll take pics of it disassembled and it's going to be painted soon.
Go ahead and make one for your CRX!!!
EDIT: I already had the material laying around my garage. I just estimated the price.

I rigged up a hood prop from a grand marquis I think, has a large flat top base, and it works for my trunk just like a hood prop does, folds and clips to the back wall just like a hood prop aswell
That cutlass's trunk looks crazy. hydraulics?
Thanks for the comments. Oh and I wish a had a GF to hold my hatch...

you can always use my solution... measure the length of your hydraulics open and close. go to the junk yard, and see if there aren't any other vehicles that use a similar length hydraulic. bet you can find one...

No crap you didn't quote the OP. I was referring to your quote of WOT. Good comprehension skills there. I know WOT lives in Canada because he use the be a member here and was just WOT. I sold some parts to him a long time ago and had to ship them to Canada. I love how you pop off at the mouth, yet everything you say just makes you look like a dumb ***.

brand new struts can be had at most auto parts shops or on the internet, and why buy used ones, they might be in worse shape than whats on now.
wow... so, you spent $5, and an hour of your life building this...
when their a whole $15 for two.
Love people who engineer fixes that are damn near the same cost as just fixing it properly.
