best lighting non-hid
I tried searching but couldn't find much. Most of the stuff in this forum is HID related.
I want to know what I can do to get the best lighting out of my 92 hatch without switching to HID.
I'm going to be driving my car at night in the winter and I need everything I can get.
When I had my 240 you could buy Cibié housings that made light output amazing.
When I had my EF it was a dual bulb setup so both high and low beams would go on at the same time... my EG isn't like this and I wish I could change it.
Anyone got ideas?

you could try getting some performance bulbs. the Phillips X-treme Power is probably one of the brightest halogen bulb on the market right now. Another choice would be the Osram Night Breakers.
No clue on what bulb type a 92 Civic takes, but if its a 9006 consider trying a 9012 HIR bulb instead.
Otherwise, the only real way to get better vision (and not just brighter light) is to replace the optics with something superior, which in the case of a halogen reflector would be a better reflector, or a halogen or HID projector.

It's a 9003/H4 bulb.
I found all the threads on here about halogen lighting thanks to mugen_si.
I'm trying to decide between the Osram Night Breakers and the Osram Rallye 70/65.
They are the same price and so far I have heard that the Rallyes will work fine with stock wiring and housing. I've heard they are more yellow (which is fine), and that they are brighter. I'm trying to figure out how much brighter though.
Anyway, back to the search function.

check out powerbulbs.com. great prices and they ship worldwide. I did a ton of research and decided to go with the phillips x-treme power. I ended up paying $30 shipped, along with a free set of side marker bulbs thrown in. supposedly the phillips are suppose to be brighter than the osrams. one thing that I didn't like about the night breakers is that I read a lot about them only lasting around 7 to 9 months. I'm sure you'll be happy with either set of bulbs.
I'm also looking at replacement headlights that allow the use of two bulbs in each housing... that way you can have highs and lows on at the same time. My EFs stock headlights with stock bulbs was amazing... I had absolutely no problem at all seeing the road.
Denjis? They are seem rare though... I wish Cibié made stuff for the civic...
