Full Front End Conversions?? Any look decent??
Ive had my crx stored away for about 2 years now, and the front end is ****, one headlight stolen, the other attempted stolen so its broke, my hood and front bumper are also damaged.
Mines an 88 Si, has a WW fiberglass kit on it. on the sides and rear
Is there any front ends that would look good on our cars? Or be fairly straight forward, I mean it all, headlights, front bumper fenders etc.
Anyone have any pics of any conversions that look good??

These look pretty ****, would it be feasible to use factory fenders/hood/bumper of the crx, and just try and fiberglass these in.... or would it be best to get the front end pieces of the accord??

for better fitments, you'd might wanna swap in the front core support to what ever headlight you are using. do what you like. just don't expect your car to be worth more than what it is now.

You mean like by this entire piece?? Just a random pic I grabbed. Heck I didnt even know that could "come off", is it simply bolt on and off or does it have to be cut?? Obviously I know there would be custom work and probably welding,
VW front bulk are plastic. =/. i believe they are bolted on. but not honda. you would have to drill out the spot welds and remove it that way. place new core support and spot weld it on.
So by putting a front end that doesn't belong on your car, and making it stand out more, you plan on attracting more thieves?
If you didn't know, they don't make CRXs anymore.
Well has anyone seen any conversions other than the accord that might work
Ive obviously still got some work as to the actual fab and how to put them in place and make the body panels flow with them. Im assuming its best to get the fenders/bumper/hood of the car the headlights came with
Or is modding the headlights into factory panels with as much sheet metal and glass easier? The accords dont seem MUCH different shape and size wise as a crx headlight/corner light

Big front ends don't flow right with our cars. Especially with how big head lights are getting. I have seen one clean swap and that was using a DA front end.
So other than an accord that as of this point I see as the best, does anyone have any pictures of these conversions? Ive yet to find any Crx with a DA front end
Im still also curious if I should modify oem crx panels, or fit the panels of the donor style car
and yes, those accord lights I linked do look great

My personal car from waaaaaay back in the day...circa 2000 or so.

It's hard to make any headlight conversion look good and to be honest I'd recommend against it. If you do decide to do it I wish you the best of luck. It's a lot of work.

I am looking for alot of work, and happy to do it, Ive got a huge project ahead of me overhauling this car, and a headlight conversion is defientely on the list. What lights are those on the car?
Could you give me any tips of the process, IE using the oem panels or did you fit the other cars panels onto the crx?
Thanks for helping

I didn't have access to a welder at the time so that is all fit onto the stock panels of my 91 Civic HB. I just made my own brackets to hold the lights in place and used fiberglass to make all the panels extend as needed. I had seen one done with the same headlights I used (94-97 Accord) but they just trimmed the sheet metal enough to fit the lights in and it looked awkward because they totally looked forced into place (not to mention that the beams no longer pointed straight on that car). So instead, when I did mine I mounted the lights so that they pointed straight and shaped the nose around them which actually ended up adding about 4 inches to the hood.
Since you're looking to do it, I'd say for the best fit around the lights, merge the sheet metal from the type of car the lights originally belong to (ex. front half of fender merged to your stock fender). One thing to think about though is if you are going to use an OEM bumper to match (or hood even). Merging fenders aren't a big deal but the width of your car and the width of the car the lights come from may dramatically effect the work and outcome of the overall look. Even if you weld the core support, things may not line up depending on what is being merged and what is being modified. It's alot to think about. Just make sure you plan.

x2! trying to be different I understand but it is hard enough to find one unmolested or riced. Diferent is sometime cool but I vote no. If you do it anyway good luck. your going to need a lot of it
Damn?! did 1999 just knock on the door?
LOL! nose swaps are way out of date. The cleanest look is the USDM but that is my opinion. JDM is hot too.

In my opinion I like the ef9 sir front end but since you want to be different I've seen a da swap and it look's pretty good.
I would like to see some before and after pic's as the progress goes buy good luck
