Icon2 H22 top end build

I drive a 97 base model lude, and i picked up a JDM head for dirt cheap with the intention to shave it, throw in some cams, and performance valve train. now the question is what to get for it. Any ideas?

I will probably be getting my block sleeved, new pistons, whole deal when i swap in the built head.

So my question is, what do you guys recommend for a N/A daily driver build?

Not to threadjack, but is it possible to raise the redline just by using performance springs, and retainers? Im assuming it would be ok because the springs would keep the valves from floating at the higher rpm.

you would need an engine management system to raise the fuel cut. It takes a good bit of RPM to make even the stock heads float valves without it being driver error.

OP, Dont machine the head unless it requires some to be removed to make it flat. When you remove material, thats it. There is no going back and it can seriously put a bump in your road depending on the type of build you want to do. If you want to raise the compression, do it with either a thinner gasket or by building the bottom end to be a higher compression.

If you are gonna build a motor I would check out NAH2B's setup with a little less comp for street use and maybe using pro 2's.....pro 3's may be okay

I would also look into building a big stroker motor with a larger F series block

The main thing on my mind --- your trans/gears holding up to 260-300whp NA =(
