95 Civic jerks sometimes on lifting of gas pedal....
Guys, got a 95 DX with stock suspension. A couple of days ago I started to feel a jerking motion in the steering wheel after about a 30 minute warmup drive. It feels like the whole passenger side wheel assembly is moving backwards some. I had this same problem before and found a lower A arm bushing gone. Replaced the bushing , problem solved. I have checked the car on both sides and cannot find any thing wrong with axles, ball joints, brakes, bushings, struts, strut mounts, bearing , rotors, tie rods , inner or outer. Took the car to my front end alignment folks and their very compentant mechanic did a thorugh checkout. On our test ride, he felt the jerking motion and a drive axle was mentioned. We got back and he placed the car on the rack for a checkout and could NOT find anything that hinted of a problem. The axles both appeared fairly new. He also took a pry bar and tried to find something that moved.....NADA. His suggestion was drive it another 2 to 3 hundred miles and bring it back. I have thought about maybe the rack end bushing but this seems to be a sudden thing, not a slowly wearing out of something. Since it only occurs after a long warmup , I changed the pass. side cv axle this morning. Took if down the road for a short spin and all was well. Will take a long test drive tomorrow.
I hate to change parts at radom and was wondering if others have had a similar experience and what the out come was.....thanks for any opinions.......
PS: when this jerking, rocking starts, I can accelarate and it will stop. But soon as I start down a hill , not applying the brakes, but lift off the gas, it starts again.

Well. Guys, here is a follow up in case somebody else has the same problem.......I replaced the pass. side cv axle and took the Civic out for a three hour ride to Moms.....no more jerking....seems problem solved. I can only assume the culprit was the cv axle and not something that got corrected , tightened, torqued, in the process of the swap. Never would have suspected a bad cv and stilll can not find a problem with it....J
