Hi i just recently bought a sir bumper... my crx didnt even come with a bumpper support... and since the sir bumper support cost like 120 on passwordjdm.. i was wondering if you could some how modfiy the usdm bumper support? so the sir bumper will fit? right now its zip tied -_-..

Please help. dont wanna buy a jdm bumepr support if i can use a usdm one at a junk yard

i used a HF bumper support. it was kind of hard to work with. then again, the support i had was warped. definitely the hf has possibilities to work with the jdm bumper.
heres how mine came out with the usdm hf support bar.


also, the bolting area does not line up. i had to put a new hole + bolt on the upper area underneath the corner light.

 

nice that bascially looks perfect. so its called a bumper support and not a cross member right? i'm having hood closing issues too sigh -__- such a headahce...closes but the side kidna open not sure whats going on. need to modify some crap.. well hf bumper support will work then? howd u modify it?

 

it needs to be an 88 bumper support. I'm not sure the 89's were the slim ones.

 

Is that just the bumper and hood with USDM fenders, corner lens, and headlights?

 

bumper support is what i would call it.
the hood issue is that you need the ef8 T bar section. i used the USDM T bar section. i had to add washers to bring it out a bit for the hood to shut correctly.

i believe ALL 88-91 HF front bumper support are the slim support bar.

i only used the jdm headlight,bumper,corner lights and bumper corner lens. everything else is usdm.

heres the step i recall doing on putting the bumper on the support bar.
- empty support bar
- bolt up empty support bar on car
- follow up with the bumper cover itself.
(try to play around with how the bumper will sit)
- find the bolting area where your bumper will be bolted down onto the support bar
- bolt it down and see how you bumper sits. adjust certain area till it fits your quality.
