Does anyone know if a tranny from a 05 and up TL will work on a 04 TL? My tranny took a crap on me. But when I do a parts search at my local auto crafts shop, the system tells me that 05 to 08 are all interchangable. But the 04 tranny is not interchangable with any other TL. Can anyone shed some light? Is it just a solenoid diffrence or what?

01-05 are all interchangeable but I would not use anything pre mid 05

 

Will the vss and all other components works fine? I just want to be 100% sure that I will be purchasing the right tranny that will bol up to my motor.

 

The best thing to do is match the code numbers.They are located where the starter bolts up to the tranny.2000 to 03' use M7WA or B7WA,04' to 07' use a BDGA trans.
