Default oil pan baffle

im trying to think of a new design for the baffle inside the oil pan. b series engine. ive seen the baffle plates you can buy for passwordjdm, but it looks simialar to the stock baffle design except the 2 plates you would weld it that sit upright. my question is would that be enough baffling so when you come into a turn the oil pressure wont drop?

http://passwordjdm.com/PasswordJDM-O...P2836C325.aspx

thanks
john

that baffling is fine. you don't want so much that the oil can't return to the pickup.

This is definitely something you want to think about, but don't over think it. Unless you're pulling massive Gs on slicks, you probably won't ever have a problem with the stock baffling and especially with the password setup.

Look into the 5.5qt Moroso pans with the trap-door baffling. It's the best pan on the market and it doesn't cost anything more than the Mugen/SPoon/Feel's/etc.

I bought a set from fastline performance. I looked at the PWJDM ones, but i liked these more.

its all moroso stuff, for the price they charge for it, i dont think you can make it that cheap, more cost effective to just buy it from jegs/summit

after seeing the baffling and the way the oil pick up is designed with this pan, id never run anything else.

with THIS moroso oil pan, which they call their wet sump oil pan, you must run their oil pickup, which is pictured above as well.

Moroso pans are a bit pricey but you pay for what you get. I bought a OBX pan for my D series and the fit was crap but i bought it cause i was cutting the flange off to put it on a D16Y8.

I put my car in a hard corner left then sharp right turn and rappppppp rod knock stock oil pan. With the new pan i can pound it and no pressure drops once so ever and ive noticed with the alum pan and the extra liter and bit of oil a consitant 40 deg drop in temps.

i had a d16z6 with no baffles in the pan and I ran it hard for years on the race track....never any problems....i have a b16 now with no baffles ...it's been going to the track for like 9 years lol

I want to buy the heeltoe baffle plates but add a trap door to the top to allow the oil to drain back quicker....why kinda of light weight sprung hinge can I use for the door or is there no point to that

thanks
