Default 91 hatch b18a1 idle problems

i have a 91 dx hatch with a b18a1 swapped into it and when i start it up it idles very rough like its hunting and surging until it warms up then it runs alright, it is also very hard to get started if its not warmed up. we talked to a guy and he said it was probably the distributor, he said it didnt look like the right one. he also said it could be the wiring job these people did on it when they swapped it, should i buy a teg engine harness?

well assuming you are running obd0 still then that dizzy should work fine. aside from the obvious lack of bolt holes lining up to secure it properly. if you're running the engine with an obd1 ecu however then that distributor will not work. and to answer your question your first post, no should not buy a teg harness. if you need a new engine harness then get another stock dpfi harness.

p28 is obd1 and your dizzy is obd0. there's your problem.

find yourself an obd1 92-95 ls distributor.

or change that ecu out for a stock obd0 pr4 and run the dizzy you have now.

lol yeah, also the car is extremely hard to start, im thinking its something to do with the injectors? it has had different injectors put into it and the resistor box definitely isnt where the stock one should be, could that be the problem? a bad ground or something?
