ive got a 91 accord that wont start... i had a similar problem a while back which turned out to be the main relay(broken solder joints). i resoldered the joints and havent had any problems until recently. i got in the car today to go do some stuff and the engine wont even turn over. all the electrical systems come on but it seems no power is getting to the starter. first thing i did was check the relay again just to see if any of the old connections had broke again but all the solder joints still looked ok from the last fix. i was wondering if this could be the main relay just going bad or if it may be something else..? any help is greatly appreciated!

im also having a small problem with the car cutting off shortly after it starts. i can make it to the end of the driveway then it shuts off and the battery light comes on.

 

check your starter cable, make sure everything tight and no corrosion.

 

check distributer or maybe if you have to many wires hooked up to yo battery. ha new battery perhaps?

 

starter cables look good.. theres not any extra wires hooked to the battery and the battery isnt dead. the motor doesnt turn over at all and the starter never turns over either. i just drove it last night and it cranked right up. when i got in the car today it wouldnt crank. it reminded me of the main relay problem only this isnt intermittent. it hasnt cranked at all since last night..

problem solved. found a little troubleshooting thing online and found it was the starter itself. thanks for the replies guys!

 

thats awsome man cuz i was about to tell you to push start your car and go get your starter tested.. i had the same prob and i had to push start my car for a week to get to work till i got the money to replace it

 

What was the trouble shooting thing? I am in the same situation and would like to track it down.

 

Might need New Battery or check Coil..

 

did this to an buddies car last night . tap the started . if thats it start looking into getting an new one

 

check for soil or corrosion..
