Default Numbers On Rods

hey when i pulled my motor apart i noticed that the rods had 3's and the new rods have 2's on them at the caps, what does that mean? do i have to do any modifying to the rods or anything?

no this is used to get the correct size or color code bearings if you buy oem bearings from honda. its irelevent when buying after market bearings. but generally its a good idea to mark them asy ou take em out of the block and put em back were they came from

yea i did that, i had ordered clevite bearings and when newer rods/pistons came in, i noticed different numbers between them

"Irrelevant". Hmmm. Don't you think that selectivity re. sizing would be a virtue here? This is getting towards "one size fits all", which loses its glamor when you actually do a mockup with plastigage and see that some things are out of spec to a perhaps frightening extent. Not exactly blueprint territory.
