Default Help bearing sizes/colour Eagle Rods b16

Hey all today I found out that Honda love to colour code things, and im very quickly trying to learn what bearings to use where, and which ones to get.

Now im replacing my main’s bearings ( all 10 of them ) with new ones and replacing them with the same colours I already have. (This is correct yeah !! ?? )

1=brown
2 = green
3 = brown
4 = green
5 = green

But for my new Eagle rods im trying to work out what colour’s to get.

Currently with the stock rods I have
1 = green
2 = brown
3 = green
4 = green

Now I know there’s a section in the helmes that talks about what combo with what.

Dustin was very nice some time ago and scanned the correct pages. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=183507

Now to work out the rod bearing normally you read the number off the side of the rod, but eagle rods don’t have numbers…

Iv also done some searching and people seem to say to assume all eagle rods are classified as Size 3, but I also read that eagle rods for b16’s should be considered as size 3 ? can anyone confirm this ?

Also does anyone have eagle’s phone number (bc my box with my rods are at the work shop and I wanta call the USA to ask eagle directly also, if needed)

Regards James

You can use the #3 size convention for the Eagle rods (as a starting point) but you should still plastigauge to check the oil clearance.

Can I be honest...??

I suggest that if you are building a motor and do not know the clearences that you go out and buy a Helms right this second. All of this information is in the helms and it tells you the things to look out for... It would be WELL worth your money to buy one if you are building the engine... I would hate to see you build this engine and have it blow up in a week...
