What do you need in terms of a car? Do you need a car to drive, or will it just be another car to build up?

^ Like he said...

If it's a car to build up, then I'd stick with the R. Bring it back to life!

personally keep the R. no matter how u fixed up the civic it could never be an R! but if you need a car to drive around town, then go with the civic.

as much as i would like to see that once completely hammered R brought back from the dead i don't think you are going to be the one to do it (no offense, just doesn't seem like you finish things) so you may as well make the trade.

If you need a running car and you're on a tight budget, then get the civic. If you have the funds and are in no rush to drive or have another car on the side, then keep the R. But if the R is tugging at your heartstrings, then you'll find the means to rebuild it. It's a great journey and once you're done with it, you won't want to get rid of it anytime soon. Question you should ask yourself, "am I up for the challenge?"

I'd wait until you need actually need a car to trade up. Unless you find an insanely good trade, it's just going to be another vehicle you can't drive (no matter if it runs or not).

if you cant drive until july of 2010 then the ek hatch is worthless right now any way ( unless u look at it as you could maybe sell it quicker) but if i was you ten i would only worry about getting the car done by the time you are able to drive

Personally if I was in your position, I'd get a super cheap hatchcrack or something to drive around in when you get your license back, and just take your time with the build. It will all pay off in the end.

Maybe it was all met to happen, you have the time on your hands to build the car now, you won't be driving around spending money on gas and everything else you buy when you drive.. is yours the PY shell with the white JDM frontend?

well then maybe you should do something about it, a completely restored itr won't just pop up... you need to do something about it, and once it's finished you will feel a great satisfaction, more than you could get from buying an ek, a type r even, because all you had to do was buy it. i say keep the car and rebuild it, it'll hold a higher sentimental value....
