Default Brake lockup

I recently tightened my parking brake cable under the console according to manufacturers recommendation. After about a week I noticed that the rear wheel on the drivers side was extremely hot. Took the tire and wheel off and had no brake pad left! So I changed the pad and reset the parking brake again, this time backing the adjusting nut off a bit. Another week went by and the wheel is getting warm, not hot, but warm. Jacked the car up and the wheel barely moved when I tried to rotate it - yes the parking brake was off. I took the console cover off and the parking brake cable is loose, as it should be, when the brake is off. My dad seems to think it's a collapsed rear brake line. This sounds logical I just wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks.

are your sliders in the caliper on that side moving freely? if they arnt your pad would be in contact with the rotor the entire time. and that would make sense to me with what youre saying.. pull apart you caliper and put some white grease on your slider bolts and see if that helps..

I'd have to look again, but when I changed the brake pads recently the calipers functioned normally. It's another good place to start.
