I've got a B18C1 swapped into my EG. Just swapped about a month and a half ago and noticed a little oil leaking out when she's running. At first i thought it was the oil filter being over tightened but after closer scrutiny it appears that there is some sort of adapter between the motor and the oil filter itself, and that is where the slight leak is. I can see a bead of oil forming at the seam of the block and the adapter. So basically just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of this, can I remove it, will the oil filter thread on properly without it, or do i need to get a new gasket/sandwich plate for it, what's the deal.

did a little more searching and I guess its an oil filter cooler, and maybe just needs the o-ring replaced, anyone know how easy/big of a pita it will be?

 

Oil cooler o-ring. Its a easy fix just be careful not to damage the oil cooler hoses. They tend to be fairly brittle.
