please help my car has been revving up and down at idle and now sometimes even in gear...i unplugged the map sensor and it stopped so i got a new one and it still does it....so please help anyone!

 

Clean the intake or with Carb cleaner/FI cleaner. Or put some sea foam in the brake booster hose/line that goes into your intake and it will clean out your system. Don't worry if your car smokes out the tail pipe when doing this, its normal...

 

okay first start with checking ur vacumm lines i went out and bought new ones and i fixed my idle could also be ur tps sensor if all comes to be bad its ur distributor sorry but i went thru these prob hen i bought a rican swap

 

what if that doesnt fix the problem? will it do anything to my car? i have heard of some guys that have put sea foam in there cars and it started doing the idle problem after that..

 

what would i check for in the lines? and i just bought a new distributor...and everythong that goes with it.....(bought it from a kid that had just crashed his moms accord same year for $30.00 what a steal!)

 

Or do a search for the thousands of threads of the exact same nature with the correct fixes in them.

X2000 with the addition of make a thread asking questions only after you have read them tried the fixes and it still has the hunting idle (like me)

cstone if you've done those suggestions for the cleaning and it still doesn't work try adjusting the idle adjustment screw at the top of the TB all the way clockwise

 

thanks TheMuffinMan. i'll try this after work today. i've adjusted the screw a couple times but never cranked it all the way down.

 

It helped my H22's wandering idle when I was having a similar issue.

I did that in addition to the rest of the suggestions and it was sorted out.
