Anybody know where I can buy "just the filter" for a walbro 255 lphhp fuel pump my pump is almost new .I am replacing the gas tank and wanted to buy and replace the filter and cant seem to find anywhere I can buy them from .

 

the strainer? You can buy one at most parts stores. It's not specific to Walbro.

 

I guess I'll check tomorrow but I think I am gonna have a hard time getting one in this area .I also looked on hondas parts diagrams and they dont list a separate part number for the in tank strainer / filter .

a supercharged gsr (high boost) 11+ got the 255lphhp pump for room to grow

 

Well turns out I was unable to find a strainer in this one horse town went to four different auto parts stores they said they could order one but it was for the carter (stock pump) not the walbro 255 .I did not know if they were the same and was not gonna spend 35 dollars for a strainer that may not fit my walbro 255. I just went ahead and ordered a new walbro 255 guess I'll have a spare lol rather spend 100 on the whole works than 35 on a strainer that I did not know if it would fit .Besides the pump that is in there has obviously had some rust pumped through it due to it being in the old gas tank and I feel best replacing the whole works !

i had to do the same,, and man i felt bad s0ending 1/3 the price of the pump on a 5$ part !!! the Carter one is the same by the way. Many Carter pumps are made ( and stamped ) by walbro

 

yeah I cant believe they want 35 dollars for a friggin strainer I said f*** that and went ahead and ordered a new pump assy
