Strut bars really necessary for drag racing?

Strut bars really necessary for drag racing?
I was wondering if the front and rear upper strut bars are really necessary for drag racing? Cause they do weight about 3-5 pounds each and less weight is always better.

may help wheel hop a little, maybe? lol i know they help for road racing, keeping the chassis a little stiffer or something like that. im gonna pick a couple ebay ones up, lol.

they help the cornering and stuff. i also picked up an ebay one and i have noticed nice cornering improvements. definatly worth the $25
