ELECTRIC WATER PUMP= HORSEPOWER?
IM CURIOUS TO KNOW HOW MUCH POWER WAS PICKED UP FROM AN ELECTRIC WATER PUMP BECAUSE GOLDEN EAGLE SAYS 3-7 HP AND ANOTHER COMPANY SAID 7-10HP...HAS ANYONE RECORDED THE HORSEPOWER GAINS.
Never used an electric water pump..but that just doesn't sound right, HP from a water pump? I've heard of COOLING systems in general releasing more HP but none of them had a water pump as part of, or the actual source. Where'd u get this info from?

The Meziere Pump works great.
The power does not come from better cooling, it is from reduced drag on the timing assembly (no more mechanical water pump).
It is a good modification for a track car/race car, since you can leave the water pump on with the engine off to cool the motor.

I belive i read some where it does add a small amount of horsepower. I think it is kind of like running under drive pulleys. less stuff for the belt to spin.

So its basically like reducing rotational mass? That type of gain? Ok..I get it now.
Wouldn't you also have to factor in the increased load on your alternator? Hard to say because most pumps don't advertise their power consumption. I feel that if you went overboard and got a pump that was too big it would to more harm than good.
i think there a good idea as long as you get a good one, the extra eltrical load isnt going to hurt anying, but i bet it does add a %hp and its nice to cool the car off when its sitting like at the drag strip. golden eagle says they only last 7000 hours ball bearing motor,
