01' SH Upper Control Arm Camber
I had upper control arms replaced and now my Camber is way negative and wearing the inside of my tires. I looked up new control arms and noticed there are different ones for SH and standard models. I was wondering if anyone knows the difference between the SH and standard control arms?
I'm wondering if the used the wrong parts.

I would almost bet money that you purchased and installed ones specifically for a base model. The Type SH ones are LONGER then the base model arms which would explain your negative camber (because the base ones are shorter). If you had them installed by a shop that also sold them to you, then I believe they owe you the correct control arms, + installation + an alignment AND TWO new front tires for FREE because it was THEIR FAULT. If you bought the arms yourself and installed them yourself OR bought them and took them to a shop to be installed, then it is YOUR OWN FAULT, but you MIGHT be able to make a claim with whomever sold them to you - as long as you can prove that you specifically stated that you had an SH and not base model and they sold you the incorrect ones.

I had them replaced at Just Tires. They got the parts, they installed them, and they aligned the car. Thats great, now I need to proove they installed the wrong parts. Any ideas?
Well the installer must have been an IDIOT because he should have been able to tell that the replacement parts were a different size. Can you measure the length of them and post here? I will measure mine for comparison (I have a 2000 SH). When I had to replace my upper ball joints my ONLY choice was to get complete arms from the Honda dealer because no one makes an aftermarket upper arm for the base or SH Prelude. If they did get the correct parts (SH ones) and used the base model specs for the alignment then they are still at fault because the toe settings are different. Does your invoice from just tires have any part# on it?.
I'm out of town and wont be back til Thursday at the earliest. I'll take a measurement and post it. The part numbers were not on the invoice and I even asked them for them the other day, but they said they didn't have them anymore. I had to have them do a cross rotate on the front tires because the wear on the inside was so extreme.
Thanks for you help.
Thanks for you help.
I installed the wrong ones once. But it was because I bought them online and the store shipped me the wrong ones. I would not doubt it if the same thing happened to them. You could see the angle was off by 5 degrees or so just by looking at the car. Just go in there and tell them they put the wrong ones on. Unless they are complete idiots they should be able to tell just from looking at the wheels.
OK, the verdict is in. The upper control arms that were installed were for a base model. They replaced them free of charge and the tires will be pro-rated. Thank You all for you help with this issue.
