how to take out spare tire
The spare tire is screwed down with a big "wing nut" in the very center of the wheel. Just grab the wing nut with your hand and you should be able to unscrew it, no tools needed. Then you can lift out the wheel.
Oh, and be prepared to inflate your spare. If you haven't put air in it in the past year - and I'm guessing you haven't, most people forget to do so - it probably needs a lot of air in it. It says on it what the proper pressure is, it's very high, 50 or 60 psi.
