h22a jdm swap issue misfire and knock censor. HELP
I helped a friend out with a jdm h22a swap on his 98 prelude.
The way we chose to do it was to use the obd1 distributor on the car instead of swapping out the oil pump housing. So I extended harness for the tdc and crk censor to the distributor and repined things so it matched this http://www.phearable.net/tech/wiring...istributor.jpg
car stars just fine and drives/idles great but I keep getting misfire codes for all four cylinders and and knock censor code p0325. I happen every time when you try to get into vtec.vtec works momentarily until the car goes into limp mode after the cel comes on.
any thoughts?

Check the timing and firing order. If your getting code 23 for the knock sensor that is pretty much telling you that the ECU can't find a knock sensor. You'll have to check the wiring to make sure your getting continuity and if so you may have a bad sensor. I'm taking mine to someone I know at a Honda dealer cause I replaced the knock sensor and I'm reusing the H23a1 harness and I still get this code. I've read some people had to wire the sensor straight to the ECU to get it to work.
It was code p0325 i was getting (i just updated my original post with that info). i already swapped out the knock censor and it did the same thing
. firing order is a-ok. could a faulty crank angle be doing this (the one inside the distributor)?
Is your knock censor code stopping you from getting into vtec?

Mine is code 23, car runs normal other than the timing may have been pulled back slightly by the ECU as a safety measure. Not sure about VTEC, works before the CEL comes on, it takes a lil' bit of driving around before I even get code 23. Can't offer any advice on the dizzy and crank angle, I'm using an OBD1 H22, maybe someone who knows will pop in and help.
Well i figured out the knock censor issue. I made a mistake wiring it lol but its fixed now. But I still have a misfire issue double triple checked my wiring so I'm really no sure whats going on. plugs and wires are golden.
It's not missing. It's a consequence of using the US OBD2 ECU with the JDM/US OBD1 style crank sensors in the distributor.
CKP and TDC were moved to the oil pump for US OBD2 to pickup misfires.
