Hi guys! I'm Jayson and here's how I got started here. I have an older post here but I got some new pics. I also wanted to share what I use to have. I used to own an AE86 which I miss but you gotta move foward right? That car was really really fun drifting and running canyons. I ended up selling it cuz most of my money went on repairs. My wife wanted me to get an FA5 when I was looking for a new car. what caught my attention was the J'S Racing Type X FD2R. On top of that it beat a 350Z in Tsukuba. Well Here are some pics. big difference in cars.. i see the fa all the time.. never seen a clean ae86 dude.

 

I love the AE86. You should have done the conversion first and then got the lips and stuff. Idk 100% but I don't think the lips you have now will fit the other front end

OP: I think you made a good dec. the AE86 is not very practical and it getting quite old, best of luck with your new FA hope you enjoy it!

i woulda swapped the ae86 with a 1jz =]
but if there's constant repairs needed on the car, might as well sell and get a brand new one which is the OP did. and he did make a good choice at the end of the day.

 

AE86 was nice and all, but i gotta say, my Toyota love will always be with MK2 Supras...

Honestly I'll never forget the day I saw a sr20det in a 86 absolutely **** all over a t51 supra it was just ridiculous.

love the 86, i have a ralley red fa5 myself with gold 77s rims. hopefully you do a fd2 conversion

 

if u make your FA as clean as your old 86 then you will be in good shape.
i say you upgraded. just keep your mods tasteful. congrats on your new car!
